Hydroxypropyl Cellulose is a partially substituted poly (hydroxypropyl) ether of cellulose. Pharmaceutical grade products may contain silica or another suitable anticaking agent. Hydroxypropyl cellulose is commercially available in different grades that have various solution viscosities. It occurs as a white to slightly yellow-colored, odorless amid tasteless powder.
