Ammonium Alginate is the ammonium salt of alginic acid, being one of the derivatives of alginic acid, a biopolymer extracted from marine brown algae. Alginic acid is a complex unbranched polymer of β(1→4)-linked d-mannuronic acid and α(1→4)-linked l-guluronic acid. Ammonium alginate is supplied as an odourless and tasteless, white to yellowish-brown coloured powder.
