Vanderbilt Minerals

Vanderbilt Minerals begun life as the R.T. Vanderbilt Company in 1916 – a clay business to paper mills in New York city. Clay for paper led to clay for rubber, which led to the development of uniquely functional minerals and chemicals. This allowed the company to grow into a global provider of more than sixty categories of minerals and chemicals, made up of over 800 products, to twelve industries: rubber, plastics, petroleum, paint, paper, pharmaceutical, agricultural, ceramics, adhesives, wire and cable, cosmetics, and household products.

For pharmaceutical customers, Vanderbilt Minerals has, for more than 70 years, been the source for natural rheology control, including natural, water-washed smectite clays, such as VEEGUM® Magnesium Aluminum Silicate and VANATURAL® Bentonite Clay, along with our VANZAN® Xanthan Gum products.
